Cell Texture

In this photoshop tutorial I’ll tell you how to create an unusual effect: yeast-like cells (a view through the microscope).

Step 1.
Create a new 300X300 pixels document with the black background. Choose the Gradient Tool (Radial Gradient) and set “Lighten” of the blend mode and try to draw cells like the image below:

Step 2.
Apply Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap and use the following settings: Highlight Strength -> 15; Detail -> 8; Smoothness -> 10.

Step 3.
Apply Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation with the following settings: (colorize-on); Hue->41; Saturation->60; Lightness-> -25.

Step 4.
Apply Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap and use the following settings: Highlight Strength -> 8; Detail -> 4; Smoothness -> 5. And that’s it.
