How to Draw a Little Monster Licking Lollipop so Eagerly! In this Photoshop tutorial we shall give a detailed description how to draw a little monster licking lollipop. I created the foundation of our little monster pic in Photoshop, then I used pen tablet to draw the sketch and, finally, I’ve managed to make a full-fledged illustration.

How to Draw a Little Monster Licking Lollypop Using Pen Tablet - Final Result

Step 1

At the beginning I created a New Document 444×525px sized with (#3a8e55) background colur. I used large soft brush to draw a stroke coloured (#a3cf98) in the right upper part of the canvas.

Step 2

Then I created a black frame for our picture. Choose 6px black pencil to draw out our canvas’ outline.

Step 3

Afterwards, I created a primary sketch. I used small white brush to draw this sketch on a New Layer. The idea of a picture is to draw a little monster licking lollypop. I was amused myself when I had been drawing this sketch.

Step 4

Next, I worked up the outline of the sketch using a black brush. I wanted to draw big fluffy paws, but then I realized that they’re going to be the main focus of attention on my picture. I decided to move the focus of attention to lollypop. I created a New Layer and made one more sketch.

Step 5

Let’s draw out the basic outlines of our little monster. Choose Brush tool 2px sized, set foreground colour (#5b8698). Use Pen tool (Paths selected) to create paths, repeating the contour of our monster, then Right click on paths and choose Stroke Path.

Step 6

Choose Layer with primary white sketch and make it invisible, as we are not going to work with it anymore. Afterwards, choose the Layer with black sketch and set Opacity 50%.

Step 7

Use middle Hard brush to paint over the monster using (#b6d4eo) colour.

Step 8

Use soft brush to draw the light parts of little monster’s body. In the process of working I get back to these parts anyway and add some light or dark strokes to make the picture optically realistic. Now, using Hard brush I paint over the earlaps with pink and I also used soft light brush to make them look more natural.

Step 9

As in Step 7 I painted over the mouth cavity. Create a New Layer and pick colour ( #a20c0d) to paint the mouth and the tongue over.

Step 10

Use small brush with (#d82e2f) colour to paint the tongue over, without touching the ridges of the tongue. The area under the tongue will be painted over with ( #7c1d1b) colour.

Step 11

Finally, use Dodge и Burn tools to add some details for the mouth.

Step 12

Create a New Layer and paint over with orange colour ( #de8301) our lollypop. Then paint over the handle with white.

Step 13

Now let’s add some details for eyes and lips. As it has been done previously, use small Hard brush.

Step 14

Add some details for the eyes and teeth. As it has been done previously, use soft light brushes.

Step 15

Let’s work up the details of our lollypop and face - work up the eye area, the forehead and the upper lip.

Step 16

Now, work up the belly-button details.

Step 17

The next step is to add some strokes for the different parts of the sketch using soft white brush, slightly pressing on the brush while drawing. The highlights you get will make your little monster look really monstry!

Step 18

Draw the saliva, for your little monster is so eager to have the lollypop!

Step 19

Add some wrinkles and cut-outs as all those fluffy toys have.

Step 20

Create a New Layer and use soft grey half-transparent brush to make the shadow of our litlle monster. Hide the Layer with sketch and the picture is ready!
