Draw a car for a superhero Batman with pen tabletRecently, I have seen a new film about Batman. The movie impressed me so much, that I decided to draw the car, so called “Bat-mobile” :). This tutorial will give you a detailed explanation how to create an image of Bat-mobile. I used pen tablet to draw the sketch of Bat-mobile as well as in the previous tutorial called “Little Monster Licking Lollipop”. You can also draw your sketch without pen tablet, but the process will last.

Step 1

Create a New Document sized 1024х768 72dpi. Create a New Layer in it and draw the sketch of a car. Don’t be afraid to make some experiments; try to find the necessary foreshortening of the car. It took me long to find the right one, but as a result I found the necessary foreshortening.

Step 2

Make a layer with the sketch almost transparent, so that this layer did not prevent you from drawing and also specified the areas for the strokes. Create a new layer, and make grey dim strokes in various parts of the car, making the image look realistic.

Step 3

After having received a dim contour of the front of the car, start to make more accurate dark strokes, making the car outlines recognizable.

Step 4

Add some details – possibly, some highlights and shades for the car contours.

Step 5

To give the car more eye-catching look, I decided to draw an open door. Create a New Layer, and as well as in Steps 2-3 create a contour for a door, then make it more accurate.

Now add highlights and shades for the car’s door.
